Description: Be an active member of the national team by learning Organizations policies, procedures philosophies, and programs. Through experience and ongoing training, the Education Specialist should acquire all skills needed to support all of the curriculum and processes. The Education Specialist works for the organizations Housing Division and the Education and Career Development Department. Responsibilities: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY Responsible for implementing, and/or conducting courses and special projects for internal staff and assisting in the curriculum development process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the development and implementation of training strategies, communication materials and internet-based educational programs. This includes but is not limited to, technical writing, guide creation, and other training materials as needed. Ensure communication of course availability, eligibility and enrollment. Consistent in teaching and reinforcing company policies, philosophies, and procedures. Help to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures and specific program compliance requirements. Track training effectiveness and help develop strategies for transfer and retention of information. Facilitate Yardi, Basics and Management Essentials workshops as directed by the Education Manager Ensure program consistency with regards to information and presentation as directed by the Education Manager. Works with the Education Manager and each Regional Leader to develop/confirm training calendar, ensures new hires eligibility for training. Tracks trainees progress. Inspects work and gives immediate feedback. Imparts knowledge and engages trainees in constructive dialogues about skill development and goals. Embodies the philosophy by being a living example to all employees. Reinforces organizations policies and procedures when facilitating courses and communicating with management.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in training, communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Experience in the multi-family housing industry a must. Position requires average travel of up to 10% with overnight stay. Experience with mentoring and developing trainers. Solve problems or moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within defined practices to determine the appropriate action. Requires computer and software knowledge in Excel, Word for Windows, Email/Outlook, Publisher, Power Point, etc. Ability to operate fax, machine, copier, telephone and calculator.
