Description: The qualified candidate will coordinate and provide a variety of activities to assist young adults with substance abuse and mental illness in finding and maintaining community employment.
Requirements: Master’s degree in social work, Mental Health, Education, or related field preferred or the equivalent combination of education and experience. LPC or LSW a plus. Experience working with homeless population, mentally ill transition-aged youth and young adults in an educational setting and/or working in a child welfare system. This position requires a person to work a flexible schedule as some late afternoon or evenings are necessary to accommodate schedules. Knowledge of psychiatric disabilities and how these disabilities interact with work environments to affect vocational functioning. Ability to develop rehabilitation plans with measurable, outcome-oriented objectives. Ability to work independently, Knowledge of community resources. Ability to coordinate with multiple service providers and family members. Crisis intervention skills. Ability to problem-solve and use sound judgment in decision-making. Capacity to educate employers and work supervisors about strategies in working with persons in community-based work environments. Flexibility to adapt and respond to a variety of situations. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient in computer use. Employment in this position is conditional pending successful clearance of: Valid driver’s license and verification of insurability; Criminal background check; Pre-employment drug test; Proof of automobile bodily injury liability coverage in the amounts of $100,000/$300,000.
